Artist History
Formed in May 2000. Drummer Tad Leger (Prime Evil/Toxik) started putting riffs and ideas together with bassist Anthony Buono (National Pastime), with the intention of creating material that was metal at it's core but with a diverse spectrum of musical influence. Former Buzzmeg Guitarist Marty Amidon was drafted in soon after, finishing off the musical trio. The three created an almost instant musical chemistry, writing a wealth of material in very little time. Finding a like-minded vocalist seemed near impossible, with the music not being exactly "flavor of the month". Finally the idea to contact Andy Eichorn who Tad had worked with in Prime Evil, over a decade before. Fortunate to everyone's sanity, Andy exceeded all expectations and became an intregal part of S.O.C.'s sound.
Bringing all the band-member's influences to the material: classic/death/progressive & black metal, rock and in Tad & Marty's case, horror soundtracks, a no-boundries style was born. With all members contributing
to the songwriting, it was almost impossible to write the same song twice. In May 2001 S.O.C. recorded four tracks at a local studio giving the listener a taste of the diverse, yet cohesive and memorable songwriting that defines Sons of Celluloid.
