Artist History
Slumber's story is very short and simple. The band Downshift was soon going to break up due to everyone's personal issues. Isn't that every band's excuse for breaking up? Anyway, Rudy (vocalist) and Robert (bassist) decided to start looking for potential members to form a new band. That is when they found Ray, Gino, and Fonzy. They we're playing in a bazaar with the band Hollow at a church in the Lower Valley. Their musical abilities automatically attracted the attention of the ex-Downshift members. After watching them play, Rudy decided to contact them through one of his friends that knew them. After meeting them and finding out that their band was getting ready to break up, he decided invite them over to his and his brother's house for a jam session. Everything clicked and that same night they decided to stick together and form a new band. The name Slumber was chosen because of the long period of inactivity they had in the El Paso music scene. They have all finally woken up from their deep sleep and are making up for the lost time. |
