Artist History
In February 200 skratch 3 started out as a three-piece. The band was looking for an original sound, as they had previously been following the mainstream alternative route. After jamming out some new original material, skratch 3 decided they needed to add something new to their sound. In May of 2000, they approached a trombone player who has become a musical asset. Skratch 3 then became a 4 piece. After a few short months, Skratch 3 was going strong with an amazing step up in harmonies. Now having three vocalists, a guitar, outrageous bass lines and powerful trombone riffs backed up by a tight drum sound, Skratch 3 was on their way with an original, musical sound. Starting out playing local shows, Skratch 3 was noticed to have the largest crowd response at all venues.
A year later in March 2001, Skratch 3 played a show at the Dungeon in Oshawa, Ontario where they revealed another new member playing the baritone saxophone. Again Skratch 3 brought out one of the largest crowds, due to selling the top number of tickets; the band was rewarded with a day and a half of digital studio time at Studio 8 in Toronto. During this time, four songs were laid down on a rough demo disc. Although Skratch 3 had a turbluent start to 2002, the band got back together and are going strong again. |
