    Artist History
Patrizia BRAI was born in Oristano (Sardinia, Italy) where she lived for 36 years; she moved to Turin in 1996 where she manages the Cultural Association "Citta' del Jazz" (http://www.cdj.it). She began composing poems since her youth, only as a vehicle to express her own inner feelings. Her poems, in fact, remain locked in a drawer for a long time. Only in 1982, some of her writings were published into the anthology of literal works "Europa Oggi - Il cammino della nuova poesia" (Ed.Cultura 2000). In 1994 she partecipated to the 3rd edition of the poetry contest "Poesia Donna" and some of her poems were published in the anthology of literal works "Poesia Donna". In 1997 she wrote the script of "Rhapsody in Swing", a musical dedicated to George Gershwin life and music and inspired by the lyrics of Ira Gershwin. Her prime source of inspiration is the classical literature, from Montale to Neruda as well as some "poetry oriented" song lyrics. In June 2001 her first Compact Disc, "Tra le stelle" was published (ed. Citta' del Jazz); this CD contains 15 poems read by the author, backed with classical piano music of French impressionism composers. These poems (in audio format) are published on MP3.COM, where all of them ranks in the first 50 in Poetry Charts, among 2700 published works (http://www.mp3.com/pbrai). In 2001 she faces the world of song lyrics, merging her love for music to her talent as poet: she writes the lyrics of "Ancora amore", "Il coraggio che non ho", "Troppo tardi per suonare" e "Schegge taglienti" (Ed. La Cittą del Jazz).
