Artist History
Born in Los Angeles, Jani began playing guitar and writing songs at age 11. As she matured as an artist, she performed at nightclubs, supper clubs, fairs, musicals, churches, prisons and college campuses in the southern California area. In 1978 she received a BA in Art (Cum Laude, Outstanding Artist Award) from Azusa Pacific University. She subsequently studied modeling and acting, and expanded her activities to include community theatre and commercial television work.ÊBut music remained her first love, and in 1987 Jani began her career as a full-time solo artist and has been entertaining steadily ever since.ÊIn 1990 she wrote and recorded her first album, Keep It Simple, produced by Michael Ferenci. In 1995 she and Jeff Foster produced Paint Me a Picture with the trio nuMonet, also featuring Jenny Butler on voice and keyboard.
