They have been together for about 4yrs. and play regularly in London and up & down the country. THE CHERRY REDS have done 2 in-house recordings for ISLAND RECORDS, and have well over 200 gigs to their name - inc. regular headlines at venues such as the Dublin Castle, Hope & Anchor, Camden Falcon and Bull & Gate, as well as gigs at venues like The Garage and at the Reclaim the Streets protest & street carnival 98.
CHERRY REDS have played with bands such as W.O.R.M., Goober Patrol, Capdown, P.A.I.N., Sick on the Bus, Apocalypse Babies, P.M.T., Restarts, Panic, Southport, One Car Pile-Up, the Test-tube Babies, and from the USA, the Kowalskis, the Casualties, Molotov Cocktail, the Undead (ex-Misfits)& bizarrely enough ... Princess Superstar.

Press Reviews
THE CHERRY REDS sound like they've just jumped out the early 80's on their '70's Boy' with it's punchy 3 chord chorus. They then change decades and direction and come out with the moddish but blindingly good 'Summer In The City' that should be a big hit this summer in the Top Twenty .. but who am I kidding in this age of hype and shite. They then switch gear yet again with '4 Walls' that has the sometimes-laughable-vocal-harmonies-that-make-yer-sick-to-gut, but no these actually work. The Cherry Reds sure ain't a band you could call one dimensional, and they give a fresh approach to this thing we call punk which is great to hear in this day and age. Next track, the pharmaceutically approved 'Pheremone Junkie', boasts another beefy chorus in keeping with their sort of sound 60's/70's sound. They end their pounding set with the crafty cockney vocals of 'Lah De Dah’s' that sounds like it came out of some swinging sixties movie. Great new band!!!

Cherry reds play tuneful well written guitar punk. The band has a great sound that really puts the tunes across. Dans vocals are really cool. One of the best punk bands around.

… Cherry Reds prove to be the other highlight. Bratty, rough & pretty frantic at times, somewhere in between Suburban Studs & TVPs I guess. Fantastically under produced & sounding like they couldn’t give a fuck about it either!!
*British Punk Invasion Vol. VI* review, from SCANNER no. 9
This reminds me of the S*M*A*S*H/these Animal Men that came out donkeys ago. It’s got the same kind of energy and promise that that had, and hopefully it will generate as much interest for these bands as that did at the time. The Cherry Reds are first up and weigh in with four tracks that really catch you by the throat. This band have got the snottiest vocalist I’ve heard in a long time, and I mean that as a compliment, each song is an instant winner and all without coming across like the latest US thing. Very Brit sounding, maybe with a tinge of Bladder Bladder Bladder sound to them, great stuff.
