"Sect of Execration - 4 track Promo CDr This is a brutal fucking demo. Texas has produced another great band! Sect of Execration hail from Ft. Worth and play brutal fucking death metal injected with enough grind and groove to make any sick mother fucker's head bang. They grind away through 4 tracks of pure sickness. The promo opens with the heavy as fuck "Scriptural Manipulations" This song features slow and brutal riffs that blow you away intill it rises to moderate speeds then slows, then speeds up yet again. The structures are pretty standard brutal death stuff but this album still stands out amongst a sea of bands in the underground. I have to say the track "Scriptural Manipulations" is my favorite of all the songs. It is just plain brutal, 'nuff said. Next we have ""Suckling the Putrid Lactation"". An absolute crushing track. It is composed of mostly slow grooves that break into a pummeling fast mid section. All of the songs on this demo seem heavily influenced by Suffocation, like pretty much all of the bands that are pouring out of Texas. Next on the list is the song "Exanimating the Deity", another crushingly brutal track. The song is in the same vein as the previous tracks, similar structures but it is unique somehow. All of the songs somehow stand apart and I think that is one of Sect's best qualiies. Each song has it's own life force. Now onto the final track "Deadly Resurrection", which is a great fucking saong, it actually probably ties with "Scriptural Manipulations" as my favorite track on this cd. The vocals on all the songs are top notch, with some strange twinges. The vocals in the final track, "Deadly Resurrection", are very different. Mid level gurelging type voclas, I am not really sure if i have heard anything exactly like them anywhere else. The sound on this demo is great. It has to be one of the best demos i have ever heard. All the songs from this demo can be found at /artists/265/sect_of_execration_tx.html and i highly recomend you check them out. 5/5" - Coprophiliac Man
