Artist description acoustic sound sources processed by electronic devices to create a hybrid of already existing sounds with ideas and words that promote freedom in all areas of human development

Artist History Pre-Packaged Products (Derek and Robert) started creating music in 1999 on a PC. The songs created during this time were comprised on the album "Demonstrations In Space-Age Minimalism". Shortly after completing the album the computer crashed. They were not sure how to translate the computer-based music to a live setting so while the computer was being fixed, Derek picked up a guitar and they started writing more "traditional" songs with an acoustic 12 string. The summer of 2001 they moved out to a house in the country to get away from distractions and concentrate on their art. It was during this time that their songwriting proliferated. They performed acoustically for friends on some rare occasions. In the spring of 2002 Pre-Packaged Products spent five months at Unearthly Recordings in Herndon, Virginia. During this time, they recorded 50+ songs. Ten of which became "Concept Album" (available on www.prepackagedproducts.com) That summer they began playing acoustically for strangers on the DC metro and Georgetown area. Here they received an amazing amount of exuberance from passers by. During the winter of 2002 they practiced religiously polishing the songs that they had written while secluded in the countryside but implementing effects into their sound. They played sporadically throughout the winter at local clubs and open mics. Throughout this year (2003) they have played regularly in the DC Metro area and in the winter of this year will be going back into the studio with a group of guest musicians to record their third full length album that will be an interpretation of the seasons.
