Artist description
Any artist worth their salt tends to have a
story (or two) to tell, and that's certainly
the case with Lee Lindsey - a talented,
idiosyncratic singer-songwriter, whose new
album, 'I', released on - the Tall Poppy label,
is packed with them. Fast times, happy times,
wild times and darker times have all informed
her work, an instinctive knowledge that to truly
appreciate the good stuff, then you must
experience the bad.

Artist History
Lee was born in Ottawa, Ontario in Canada, growing
up mostly on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River,
her family moving for a short while to Vancouver
Island British Columbia before returning to the
Ottawa Valley. Lee left home at the early age of
15, guitar in hand and promise in her heart to
start her world journey. Starting with
Toronto & Montreal then on to live in Hamburg,
London, Ibiza, New York, Paris, Florida and
Colorado, before ultimately settling in London.
Whilst in Nashville, Lee also performed some live
shows - an important development, as the shows
inspired her to form her first band when she
returned to London - Delta Moon. The fun that
she obviously derived from playing in the band
informed her realisation that her future lay in
being a singer / performer, as opposed to being
solely a songwriter. All this against a background
of failed personal relationships contributed to a
rich fund of experience upon which to draw as
inspiration for her songs.
Eventually, she met up with Australian
Producer / Engineer Jack Guy and a lot of things
fell into place.
Jack's influence on Lee was crucial; he
encouraged her to pour her energies into a solo
career, and, setting up a state-of-the-art home
studio, the pair worked on the songs and sessions
that would eventually become the 'I' album.
