Artist History
Jamie Arnold was born on June 11, 1975 in Orangeburg, South Carolina though he moved every few years due to his father being an officer in the United States Navy. Because his father was in the navy life was pretty hard for Jamie and his siblings. Every two to three years he was changing schools and in his high school years he actually attended three high schools in three states in four years. His father also expected a lot of discipline and instilled this in all of his kids. Even though Jamie moved around like he did one class stayed the same in every school. The school chorus was always the first class Jamie signed up for. He started singing in the school chorus in second grade. He performed his first solo in his fourth grade year in the school chorus Christmas program. It was with this solo that Jamie realized he wanted to be a singer and started attempting to write songs. He wrote his first rap during the winter of 1991 when Operation Desert Storm commenced. Jamie’s father had been sent to the Persian Gulf in the summer of 1990 to be a part of Operation Desert Shield. When the war broke out Jamie wrote a rap of what he was feeling. As the war came to end the high school Jamie went to held a talent show. Jamie entered the show with his rap and went on to take first place. That took lace in his freshman year of high school. Jamie entered into his high school talent show in his junior year in Washington State and there he also took first place. In his senior year Jamie skipped the high school talent show to enter into a talent show held by the South Carolina State University. He placed first in this talent show and was asked by a local T.V station (channel 40) to be part of a 30-minute show on local talent. Jamie performed for the show and then sat through an interview session where he was asked questions from his age, how he got started performing to what his plans were with his talent.
Jamie graduated high school in June 1994 and took time off from his music after getting married to Melissa Arnold on December 03, 1994. He then had his daughter Taylor born on July 01, 1995 and again had to put his musical ambitions on hold to support and care for his wife and daughter. To help make ends meet and because of a son he and his wife were expecting Jamie joined the United States Army in March 1997. Jamie’s son Jamie Ryan was born on October 27, 1997 and not long after Jamie was discharged from the Army due to his wife being diagnosed with epilepsy. Jamie went to work for MCI and was chosen by an audition to perform for the president of mass markets in 1999.
But it was not until after watching the movie Coyote Ugly in January of 2000 that Jamie decided he was going to pursue his life long dream of being a recording artist. He is now working very diligently to perfect and master his talent and become the best performer he can be.
Jamie’s professional achievements include:
