    Artist description
We feel that we come as real as six musicians possibly can. We blend elements of aggression, emotion, poetry and honesty to acheive the sound and vibe we do. Expression is job 1 for downgroove. We just hope we find enough people out there to appreciate our original sound and attitude. The main musical styles we dip into are hardcore, emo, metal, reggae and hip hop. We feel that diversity is important, from song to song and within each song. There's no one thing that defines downgroove, but one way to describe us is simply "real".

    Artist History
downgroove began as Procreation, a garage punk band, involving members Chris Jessick(guitar/vox), Mike Jessick(drums) and Ben Prescott(bass/backup vox) in 1996. Soon after the sound got harder and a second guitarist became necessary, Marc Silverman came onboard as the primary guitarist for a band that went from the name Procreation to Onslaught of Aggression to downgroove. Chris backed off the guitar to focus on singing and turntablist Nick Bittrich joined in early 1998. Then in 2000 British guitarist Phill Hunt joined the band making the member total six. Then in early 2001 Nick McClung joined the band as downgroove's new bassist. The album entitled "like the exposed sun(set.)" is expected to be released late July, 2001.
