Artist History
Not unlike the famous first meetings of John and Paul or Keith and Mick, Wetzel and Aaron met at Wyatt's Saloon in Baltimore in the summer of 1997. The two quickly began writing songs yielding mostly melodic acoustic material. That would quickly change after plugging in electric guitars and with the addition of Chris Beall, Aaron's roommate, on drums. Chris Boron soon joined on bass. The newly coined BarFly Celebrity, a name that Aaron came up with years earlier, began writing original material and gigging out in the Baltimore area. Within a year the band recorded a demo, 'The Beall Tower EP', which received minor radio airplay. Continued writing and gigging found the band in the studio again two years later. This time with new drummer Ed, 'Global Clove' was the result, a strong 6 songs CD that highlighted the bands diverse musical styles. But alas, not all stories have a happy ending. Boron quit, Wetzel moved, and the practice place closed. That was enough to put BFC on the skids for a while. Move to current day, you'll find Wetzel and Aaron still writing and gigging in Baltimore. |
