Artist History
The seeds of Transylvania Clutch Country were sewn back pre-millennium Chicago, where Sunny Slinger would hang out at WaxTrax and listen to everything dance-industrial. Frankie from Thrill Kill Kult worked at the store and would hook Sunny up with mix tapes and non-released recordings. Slinger remained a fan of this type of music and moved to the Sunshine state for a while.
After moving back to Chicago from Florida, having added an appreciation for folk\country and electronica to his musical interests, Sunny was ready to start working on prototype ‘cyberbilly‘ music. His friend, Mason Dixon, (Now G-Haad of Vortis previously of Slunt and BallSniffer) who’s background was more grindcore and metal, had gotten into rockabilly and outlaw country while Sunny was away. The two tastes fused and the duo recorded five songs under the name Sintex, the first chapter in the TCC story.
Slinger left for Los Angeles to work at Red Ant Records (Thrill Kill Kult/PeterMurphy/Daniel Ash/Bauhaus). The label went bankrupt and he shifted gears to acting. Somewhere in the midst of all the chaos Sunny started working on music again.
Essentially a solo project at this point, the next chapter will incorporate further the timeless elementals of oldskool hip hop. |

Press Reviews
Review of 'gUnspoken':
"Great mesh of vampire spookiness, industrial hip-hop and a 'biting' sense of humor."
--from Black Pill Box
On Roadkill:
"This is different! Sorta psychobilly, but VERY much like Alien Sex Fiend... the Fiends would enjoy this song, so do I."
--BPB 7/01
Review of A.Front:
"What better way to win this war than to send in a vampire commando? Good visionary tune with a modern twist."
--Vampyres 10/01
