Artist description
the True Human Motive was a band from some undetermined point up until August 2000. During our time together, we played extremely few shows and recorded enough material for a cd, which will be released on Engine for a Revolution/Starfall Records at some point in time (hopefully). It's interesting. We weren't remarkably innovative, but I would be lying if I said we actually really sound like any of the bands I listed as comparisons. If you can think of a better one, please let me know. Two of our songs do remind me of the Cure, though, and one reminds me of Maximillian Colby. |

Artist History
The band formed out of Lewes, Delaware in May of 1998 under the ridiculous title schaF and consisted then only of drummer Shawn Sukumar (Counterpoint Earth) and guitarists Andy Paller (A Petal Fallen) and Benn Roe (Counterpoint Earth, A Petal Fallen, the Black Out). At some point that band changed its name to Justify the Means and drastically changed its style from a sort of shitty garage-punk to a more unique but little better sound. In October of 1999, Shawn quit the band. By December of that year, Shawn had been replaced by Al Shipley, and Chris Milsom had joined the band on bass. Again, the band changed drastically, this time almost progressing to a listenable sound. In April of 2000, we realized the band had gradually progressed into a project its members took seriously, and decided to change its name one final time. In August of 2000, the True Human Motive dissolved after playing shows in Delaware and Pennsylvania and recording a full length CD over a period of two recording sessions. |
