Artist History
At a dinner party in Cache Valley Utah, Tim
Diggles met TommyThunder. The topic of
conversation soon turned to music. Tim, raised
in Detroit, mentioned his influence of the great
R&B and rock bands of the area. TommyThunder,
raised outside of Chicago, mentioned his influence
of the great jazz and blues artists of that area.
He also mentioned the fact of being a member of
the Flock's Tom Webb band. They decided to form a
band. After several weeks of jamming with local
musicians in walked Pat Newby. From the Seattle
area, this power house guitarist screamed over the
Diggles' R&B chord patterns. The band was now
complete. With the quick wit of Diggles's lyrics, song writing, and
driving drum beats, Thunder's rhythmic bass lines
and song arranging, and Newby's guitar in
total overdrive, the band had a new original sound.
Soon the band took aim at the cult driven society
of Northern Utah. Getting most of their song ideas
from the local paper the band became a local favorite
of the Logan underground.
Rehearsing in a small area behind a furnace in a
basement, of an old house on Center Street in Logan,
the band decided to record their songs on a 4-track
cassette machine. They added the keyboard of Tom
Bunn, to fatten the sound. The cassette album "No
Pets, No Smoking, No Drinking" was released in
1989 but was only distributed at live shows.
The copy process was slow and soon abandoned. Newby
had to leave the band in 1990 because of job
relocation. Frank Fencil replaced Newby to complete
songs already written by Diggles.
In the year 2000 TommyThunder loaded the original
4-track tapes into his digital recording computer.
By removing the pops and hiss of the cassette tapes,
adding effects, and adding parts to unfinished songs the
new album "Cache Classic Collection" was born. This
Digital Automatic Music CD is now available over the
world wide web and local stores. So now everyone
can return to the day of Double Barbeques, Double
Ringers, and Double Fun of Logan's underground of
the late 1980's.
