Artist History
Solitary Sinners blends elements of goth, new wave, electronica, industrial, and synth-pop to create unique and emotional darkwave pop with an interesting electronic edge.
Started by front man Jay Grinder in the summer of 2000, Solitary Sinners began as a one-man electronic-industrial act, and eventually morphed into a three-piece darkwave unit. The sound is comparable to such artists as Gary Numan, the Sisters of Mercy, Clan of Xymox, London After Midnight, and Project Pitchfork, but original enough to stand on its own.
An ocean of eccentric, but very dance-friendly programmed beats, unique guitar riffs, impassioned baritone vocals, married to catchy synth melodies, and driving bass-lines. The songwriting is dark, but rooted in real-life, personal experiences, and honesty (something that hasn’t gone un-noticed by the growing fan-base they have accumulated). The Sinners have used a steady schedule of live performances (predominately in the Denver and Colorado Springs area) to polish their sound and get their name out to the public. All the while, they are constantly challenging themselves to come up with new, and exciting material. The band always has their sights set on the future, while keeping themselves firmly rooted in the present. www.solitarysinners.com |

Press Reviews
"The deep soul of the bass and rythym section
is his love, a perfect fit for his soulful,
intelligent anger. A match made in,
er hell maybe? Since he's a child of
the 80's his music brings that same feel
that Bowie and the rest of the new age
rocker's had but with a 2001 twist. It's
totally fresh and totally rocking."
- Chris from RockTheMic.com
"A solo artist that is nothing short of
amazing, caught my attention after the
first beat.... I didn't want to listen
to any other band for the whole night,
I just wanted to listen to this song...
until my ears bled."
-Wednesday Elektra from Aid For Bands
"Electronic Darkwave with Bauhaus influence."
