    Artist description
Originally known as Cult of Nekros, the Band was formed in 1992 as a song writing project by David Hendriksen (Nekros) and Billy Bassett (Ego) After some serious experimentation, the line up was finalized as: Nekros - Lead Vocals & Bass, Ego - Guitar, Dr Rhythm - Drums. Due to external influences the project was put on hold, but was resurrected in 1998. Recruitments included Jarred Sheffield on rhythm guitar and Paul Cartwright (The Unknown) who originally joined as a backing vocalist and then progressed to drums. This line up recorded a demo and made two videos, and cumulated with some gigs at Club Bizarre. Jared moved overseas at this point and Cult of Nekros was reduced to being a 3 piece again. This lead to a reassessment of our sound and despite some experimentation, we weren't happy with the sound and decided to add keyboards. Bronwyn Renall (Morgana) joined the band to fill this role, and the band entered it's most creative period to date. The name Cult of Nekros was shortened to Nekros as the original didn't accurately represent our style. And a period of extensive song writing followed. Gigs have included the The Beam Bar, Club 54, the Club Bizarre produced HALLOWEEN 2001 gig at the Kings Arms and DEFCON1 at the Temple. A limited-edition CD was released at DEFCON1, and the band's first full CD "Bourbon & Razor Blades" is scheduled for release in June 2002. Some videos are also in the pipeline.

Had a great night last night. NEKROS ROCKED! The Temple is a great place for small intimate gigs, I liked it,the bar is damn cheap, and I meet up with a few long lost friends so I was chuffed. The place was semi fullish and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The band played a good 45 or so minutes of good ol' grunty goff rock. I loved 'em and the three Sisters' covers that were thrown in went down a treat.
