Artist description From the deep, raw sounds of Chicago emerges one of the most captivating artists in today's electronic music scene. In a very short time, Josh has become one of the most solid and enticing producers in the U.S., offering a consistent flow of releases that range from tech-house and house to techno-trance. An extensive musical background and years of training in piano and cello have given Josh a strong platform to excel as a producer, remix artist and DJ. His interest in dance music was sparked circa 1989 by artists such as Bad Boy Bill and Julian 'Jumpin' Perez and his current musical inspiration comes in part from such artists as Circulation, 16B, and Way out West. His interest soon turned into an ardor, and his first record was released in 1997. After working with Bobby D's label 'Jasperstone Trax' for nearly a year, Josh began producing tracks for various labels under Strictly Hype Recordings. He released nearly 40 records with SHR on labels such as Flashtraxx, Sunrise, Afterhours, Dialogue, Colossal and Gourmet. As his interests in music have moved from hard house to tech-house, Josh has started releasing tracks on Simple Soul, Moody Recordings, and Prolekult and is set to release various ground-breaking records with Hooj Choons; a highly reputable dance music label based in the UK. With his tastes and interests in music continuously expanding and escalating, we can only anticipate what enticing and prevailing new things Josh Collins will unleash to take us, and the rest of the world, by storm.
