Press Reviews Icarus Flight Plan, an up and a coming San Diego band, opened the festival with a set that was altematingly dark and playful. Icarus Flight Plan's sound is a bit manic-depressive, and their musical pieces are more miniature epics than songs. Highlights included the rhythmically fascinating "Suite 4B" and "The Pumpkin, the Sheep and My Brother's Wife," a down-home metal ditty that opened and closed with some impressive harmonica playing on the part of the vocalist, who happened to be wearing a plastic satanic looking mask at the time. Comprised of four exceedingly talented musicians, Icarus Flight Plan was one of the better received bands of the event.
