Artist History
Chemical X's original members were Min Ko and Tony Montez, a Gary Glitter tribute band playing at Jewish wedding parties.
After two struggling years in the cutthroat wedding party circuit, they decided to search for the perfect band members.
When they couldn't find them, they had to settle for Keith Camplin (who immediately proclaimed himself a "bass god"
within seconds of joining), and Frankie Lovegash (a great drummer with a God complex).
Without a strong singer, Tony had to supply the vocals, until the late 1990's when Stan joined the group,
(who was considered in many circles as a prima donna).
Years flew by, with the band sitting in the garage, saying over and over again, "Dude, we're going to make it,"
their equipment not even plugged in, listening to Foghat, and getting high on khat. It was then decided to jump on the heavy metal bandwagon
and record four songs that broke new ground in melody and harmonic balance with the universe. Those four songs were later thrown out,
and they came up with four newer songs that became the Chemical X demo. Since then, Chemical X has played numerous gigs around the Chicagoland area
(no wedding parties). Chemical X has quickly risen (in their own minds) as one of the top Chicago bands of all time. Then tragedy struck, and the band was never the same (to be continued). |
