Artist description
Possessing a musical thirst that was first quenched by a plastic guitar, an inflatable saxophone, and a toy piano, Brain Cancel is one man whose music is all sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Disconnected lyrics, lower abdomen punching beats, rambling vocals, an accidental name, fake basses and earthy guitars. These are the elements that make up the entity that is Brain Cancel.
After spending years making music for other people, Brain Cancel decided that it was time for him to strike out on his own. He left the weekday evening world as most people know it, and entered a period of hibernation in an inner-city cave. Bouncing around by the light of a disco ball and a lava lamp, he was fuelled by tiny amounts of beer and large amounts of heartburn inducing noodles.
Slowly the music that was truly his own began to take shape.
His music still unfinished, Brain Cancel knew that he had to make a change. He needed to find that last bit of soul and energy to place into his music, to put him in touch with those around him, to place his entire arm, and not just a finger, firmly on the pulse.
It was one last, futile gesture that did it in the end. A party to end all parties, a party he could call his own. A party to celebrate the release from his self-imposed prison and his reunion with the world around us. For it was upon leaving the isolated environment of the cave that he found his muse, and it seemed entirely natural, for that is the way of these things.
With the music complete, all that is left now is the future.
