Artist History Annwyn was formed in the fall of 1996 (at that time, the band had no name yet). Founding members Kevin Madden, Bruce Curwin and Mark Anthony had no real plans except to work together on some original material and have fun. Over the next year, they began to get exited about recording the music they were creating. However, this meant adding more to the band.In the spring of 1998, Laura Farquhar joined the band, her keyboarding sound putting the songs into the mainstream. After a couple of lineup changes with bassists and drummers, Kevin Goguen and André Goguen (not related) brought their distinctive sounds to the group. Not long after, Mark Anthony left the band, wishing to pursue other creative interests that he could not pursue within the band.Early in 1999, after many (too many) name changes, the band finally chose a name: Annwyn. Today the band feels that this is the family they were trying to build. The ease with which everyone gets along as well as the great communication that the band has helps to make a creative environment that produces great music. There is no one "leader", everyone contributes equally and eveything is voted on fairly.Each member contributes to the the band’s songs, as well as writing some of their own.
