Artist History Adalberto Maria Riva graduated in piano with honors in the course of Chiaralberta Pastorelli at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan. He attended master classes of Franco Gei, Viktor Merzhanov, Paul Badura-Skoda and Vitaly Margulis. He also attended the Accademia Pianistica in Imola where he studied with Franco Scala and Giovanni Valentini. Semifinalist at the competitions Martha del Vecchio in Arenzano and at “Premio Venezia”, he got prizes in some national competitions (Selezione giovani pianisti A. Mozzati 1987 and 1988, Concorso Schubert 1988, scholarship of the Societ� Umanitaria 1990, Citt� di Albenga competition 1991 and 1992) and international ones (Cava dei Tirreni 1993). He plays both as solist and in Chamber Ensembles. In 1995 he got the A.R.A.M. prize that allowed him to make a tour in Poland and Germany and to take part in the review Musica 2000 by CIDIM in Rome at the end of 1996. He played with the Angelicum and the Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano Orchestras, and several times with the Filarmonica Banatul in Timisoara (Rumenia) with Jean Francois Antonioli conducting. During the year of Mozart’s celebrations he took part in the international festival in Bergamo and Brescia and he was invited in Salzburg at the Mozarteum. He is teaching from several years in his place of residence in Italy. He is finishing the Virtuosit� at the Lausanne Conservatory of Music in the course of Dag Achatz.
