Artist History The North East and especially Newcastle has always been a stronghold for rock, but it has been a long time since the city has delivered anything new to the scene. The Waiting Room are a four piece from Newcastle: Graham Parker - Vocals & guitar, Mark Hunter - Guitar, Steve Robson - Bass & backing vocals, Paul Kirk - Drums.Formed in September 2000, the band members came together out of dissatisfaction with previous projects.Set upon a strong desire to deliver punchy rock with a hook, the final ingredient came when drummer Paul joined in October of the same year, and with his solid rhythm work brought a powerful dynamic to the emerging sound. Centred upon a full spread of raw guitar rythm, the emphasis is always towards strong chorus lines.January 2001 saw the bands first live appearances and the studio production of a four song sampler recording.
