Artist History With his hauntingly sweet melodies and polished guitar playing, Jared Woods is making a name for himself in the Alternative Rock world. Whether playing solo acoustic or ricking out with his band "Woodrow", Jared is at his best on stage. The twenty-five year old native of Anchorage Alaska grew up listening to the pop sounds of Cat Stevens and The Beatles. In high school he joined the jazz band as the guitar player and also sang in the choir. His appreciation for drifferent styles of music grew during this time and inspired him to write. After graduation, Jared drove from Anchorage to Los Angeles where he attended music school and recorded his first album titled "Carnival Ride". The first track on the album "Tonight" saw much success on mp3.com when it reached number one on the pop/rock charts and held it for two weeks. His second album "Spilled Drinks and Starlight" is due for release in December. Jared is currently living in Anchorage making a living as a professional musician.
