From a clear blue sky, the bolt that was Buck smoldered out after three short years. Now, out of the fracas and into the fray guitarist/vocalist PEPPER BERRY returns with a more socially conscious and politically charged trumpet that is BOBOT ADRENALINE. Writing songs that he described as merely "music with a purpose", Pepper began recording demos with longtime friend Tommy Stinson (the Replacements, Guns N Roses) manning the producer chair and bass duties while friends like Josh Freese (the Vandals, Perfect Circle) stopped by to fill in on drums. With the demos nearing completion, Pepper needed his band. He had to look no further than his old band's fan base where he found bass player COREY MacGREGOR. "Corey had been a fan of Buck's, and I'd met him more than a few times at shows", recalls Pepper, "I went to this Groovie Ghoulies show and saw him in the middle of the mosh pit with all these 9 year old kids and I thought, oh man, he's one of those jock punks that likes to jump around hitting everybody, but then I noticed he was actually jumping around making sure the kids weren't getting hurt or falling down and right then I said 'That's my bass player! I don't even need to hear him play!" Corey and Pepper quickly went to work auditioning drummers. The search ended quickly after it began when JOSHUA ANTHONY SMITH arrived on the scene. "I had a feeling about Josh the moment he walked in the door", Pepper recalls, "He just nailed it right off the bat. His ideas were right on the money, and his drum work just propelled the music up a notch." The trio set to work immediately honing the socio-political rants that are the BOBOT ADRENALINE repertoire. Carving out the cynical view of government in Damn the Machine to the punk rock spirited, Minutes from the Last Anarchist Meeting which takes a very satirical look at the supposed goings on of your local anarchist chapter. "One of my many heroes is Viktor Burakov," says Pepper, "a Russian forensic detective, who had to fight off his own government to apprehend one of the most notorious serial killers of our time. The man nearly went insane trying to stop the slaughter of young children around his Rostov community." Viktor's Misery is an inspired retelling of his story. A news and political junkie of sorts Pepper unleashes BOBOT ADRENALINE on a fury of topics from the death penalty to the Patrice Lumumba - nothing is too sacred - not even Mr. Dubah himself and the sham that was the Florida election both of which come under the brunt of the pointed lyrics in Thief in My House. "This song always surprises people because it's a weird arrangement. It's real heavy, then it's pop, then we weave this classical piece into it like some weird merry-go-round winding down, and then it pops right back to the heavy stuff. You gotta keep them on their toes!" "One of our favorite songs to play nowadays is Midnight Sofia", says Pepper, "It's about the coming of rock n roll to communist Bulgaria. I had been reading this article on it awhile back and thought it was great subject matter, and the song is blast to play live with it's little calypso break and everything." How many bands do you know that can sing about communist Bulgaria and make it rock!? Catch the onslaught that is BOBOT ADRENALINE when they roll through your town.
