Press Reviews
Thick and chunky power pop, complete with fuzzed out guitar and the occasional bit of organ. Loud and bouncy, just the way it should be. - A&A
From "Cigarette Girl" (a more tuneful Replacements drunkenly fucking about with an analog synth) to the big sing-a-long chorus of "Stay Awhile," The Dorks is as refreshing as any debut this year and miles ahead of most pop punk from the last five. Engineer Dale Mieners keeps the sound just ragged enough so that it leaps from the speakers like a playful (or only half-wild) animal, while Pete, Andy, Chris, and Brendan strip so much unnecessary fat from the pop punk formula that we don't even get last names. -Static Mulitmedia |
