Artist description
Music by The Twin Atlas usually consists of short and slightly surreal folk & pop songs, written and home-recorded by Sean Byrne with Lucas Zaleski, who began playing together when they met at the University of Delaware in the early '90s. Zaleski is now an NYC resident and Byrne lives in philadelphia, drumming with the bands Lenola and Mazarin. Twin Atlas song-sketches utilize instruments of acoustic & electric guitar, vocals, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, harmonica, effects, melodica, percussion, as well as whatever and whoever may be laying around at the time.. Their debut CD "the philadelphia parking authority must die" collected material recorded from january 1999 through spring 2000. Their most recent CD "kitchen u.s.a." follows the timeline from summer 2000 to march 2001. A new CDR "subtle citrus" is a companion to the "kitchen u.s.a." full-length and contains material from those sessions. This CDR is only available through www.thetwinatlas.com. Twin Atlas songs represent Byrne & Zaleski's occasional collaborations, with an emphasis on both concise structure and spontaneous basic compositions, upon which Byrne later goes back to and finishes; adding vocals, structure, additional melodies, and assorted sounds. |
