Artist History
The BENSONS were formed from the ashes of BRAIN DAMAGE in mid 89, taking their cues from the Crossoverscene, they soon had a catalogue of brutal tracks. It was in the live setting that the band reallycameinto their own, beer soaked, alcohol fuelledevenings of hilarity were guaranteed at a BENSONS show.Becoming a popular live act they ditched weaklink bassist RUTH BENSON and recruited ELLIS D.BENSON (aka AL WATSON) from THE PLEASUREPAIN.Thus, the disfunctional family was complete, andthe "classic" line up was born.Sadly, within a year, alcohol and personal differences had combined to tear the group apart. They split up in mid 1991 leaving as their legacyjust one 14 song demo, "FUN ON A 4 TRACK", a fewscars and advanced liver conditions to remind usof their idiotic genius.PLUCKER now plays in Rawk gods BIGFOOT and runsDEAD BEAT STUDIOS in DUMBARTON.ELLIS D. plays bass in WEIRDFRUIT and DJs and performs as YEAR ZERO, SWITCHDOCTOR and WEIRDFRUIT.ANDY HEDGES records as GECKOPOWER and as part ofHAIRY BANJO.BENNIE BENSON plays drums (!) in WEIRDFRUIT andvarious other things in THE 6 BILLION DOLLARBENSONS which features PLUCKER too.LOU-BRUSH BENSON played for years with CONFUSIONCORPORATION, and is now singer/drummer in CO-EXIST.He recently got engaged. ahhh.RUTH BENSON gave up music after short stints inFREEDOM ROAD and JUNIOR HACKSAW.She is a natural blonde. |
