    Artist description
Colonel K is hordes of magical pink fairydust mixed in with political decay and social unjust. Fed up of all the Nu-metal and Pop-Punk music coming onto the scene, the Colonel K Militia prove a satisfying yet alarming alternative to the mainstream taking the old punk formula and adding real musicianship under it's charred skin. A bunch of "Glitter Love Boys" we look the purdy part but scream the anarchist message. The usual tripe songs about girlfriends are instead replaced with such melodic frequencies about homicidial maniacs and 12 year old prostitutes. Too risque' to be mainstream, too pretty to be goth, too talented to be punk, decide for yourself and never see things the same way again.

    Artist History
A pretty, glittery & glamourous four piece guitar orientated Prog Metal/Rock band from around various parts of SE London, Colonel K (previously known as Soular Coast) have been developing there musical skills for quite a few years now both individually & on the gigging circuit. Having made several self financed E.P.'s and gone through various lineup changes the "odd" band has now got the full potential to get the elsuive record deal that eludes it. The first lineup change being the replacement of Tony "Bones" Perryman from the band & replaced by Jack "Angry Hoolio" Hubbard who also being in another band & having been in many beforehand has a great deal of experience to add to his credibility. Starting of as a more indie/pop music group, ever since "Matti the Bunni" joined the band the band took a darker edge going to a more heavier metal/punk sound and since the discovery of bands like Mr Bungle/Faith No More we've decided to go down a smart progressive metal road as we see huge possibilities in that line of music. Our gigging history is as follows : (Gig History): March 2000 - Half moon, Herne Hill (support)May 2000 - Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford (headline)July 2000 - Half Moon, Herne Hill (headline)September 2000 - BorderLine, Soho (support)October 2000 - Blackheath Halls (support)November 2000 - Monarch, Camden (support)December 2000 - Amersham Arms, Newcross (support)March 2001 - Mick Jagger Centre, (support Llama Farmers!)March 2001 - Paradise Bar, Newcross (headline)May 2001 - Underworld, Camden (support)

    Press Reviews
Gig Review @ the Underworld : "From the moment Soular Coast stepped onto the stage, it was clear they had something to say. Sending out visible vibes of determination, sex appeal and style, they burst into the first song of there set. With Dan Churchill on guitar and lead vocals, Reece Mclaughlin on guitar, Matt 'Robot' on bass and Tony Perryman on drums, Soular Coast tore through their somewhat short set with spectacular passion and energy. Standout tracks included 'Lay Me Down', 'No Boundaries' & 'Maniac' in which each band member showed off his own talent be it Dan's unique vocal ability, Tony's ability to create and sustain amazing beat and rhythm, Matt's ability to give every song the extra edge and perfection with his amazing bass playing skills or Reece's solid rhythmic guitar playing to make it complete. Every detail is perfect, from the band taking turns at center stage to the outfits they are wearing and the guitars they are using. Soular Coast look completely at home on stage, and the strength of the sound teamed with Dan's mid-song pre-occupied stare suggests that making music is just as much for themselves as it is for the fans. The band do not cut themselves off from the audience; they are receptive and open, and from merely watching a set it is possible to gain an insight of each individuals personality, which although somewhat contrasting work well on stage together producing a dynamic sound and innovative look. With this talent, potential and determination there's no doubt that Soular Coast will go a long way & have the fans on there side.
