Artist History
Phil van de Werken (Phuzz) and Craig Andemar (Android) are the two members behind Shout Music Productions - a songwriting, production and remixing team from Minneapolis, MN. The two first teamed up in the mid 90’s and gained immediate notoriety in the dance music industry with their band L.E.D. In addition to releasing three nationally released dance charting singles, L.E.D. was awarded the 1995 Minnesota Music Award for best dance record of the year for their full length CD “Shortwave”. Over the years, Phuzz and Android lent their remixing skills on multiple songs for major and indie label artists, including a 1998 #1 Billboard charting remix for Twisted America/MCA recording artist Club 69. As their success grew in the dance music genre, Phuzz and Android began experimenting with ambient, world, and new age music styles. In 1998 the two were hired to contribute several songs for the international debut album of Soulfood on Rykodisc Records. The album received critical acclaim in the world and ambient music industry due to its unique blend of electronic, human, and atmospheric sound and production techniques. The song Chameleon, written and produced by Shout Music Productions, became a featured song on the album and quickly became a springboard for future opportunities. In 1999, Phuzz and Android were asked to contribute Chameleon, plus several new tracks to the IMAX feature film Extreme. The film was released along with a full-length soundtrack compilation CD on Palm Pictures. Scoring several songs for the IMAX film Extreme helped catch the attention of several television and film producers. Over the past 2 years, Shout Music Productions music has been featured in numerous television, film and advertising mediums including Baywatch, SAAB, IBM, ESPN and more. The success Phuzz and Android have enjoyed producing and writing for other artists inspired them to once again focus on their own songwriting skills. Known for their unique sense of creating sonic atmospheres, the two recently decided to put their heart and soul into their new project, entitled Sonic Rituals. |
