Artist description
Five hundred years ago, Heidi Fox would have been a forest nymph or fairy, luring unsuspecting townsfolk into a misty glade--long red-gold hair and Celtic looks weaving the magic most of us secretly yearn for. Today we find Heidi nestled behind a computer, conjuring that same magic through her original songs, and venturing out to clubs to test the power of her spells. Seeing Heidi in live performance is a must. In her song, Goodbye Tokyo, she executes a near perfect fan dance, gleaned from years of ballet, modern and jazz. Mystic Eye transforms her body into a flurry of undulating hips and expressive arm movements, punctuated by sensuous bodyrolls. Her voice is at first high, bell toned and pure, then deep, sexy and intense. Heidi’s vocal and musical style is often compared to Kate Bush, Tori Amos and Loreena McKennitt, however she is an original and each of her songs is one of a kind. After numbers like Glass Menagerie young girls often come to the stage and cry. As a girl of twelve, Heidi was spotted singing with a band on the beach by Atlantic Records A&R man Sonny Fox, who pursued her adamantly. The songs were not her own, she hadn’t yet found herself. She told him no....Now she has found herself, having walked out of an ocean wave, borne by her music....The show is on. |
