Press Reviews Throat Culture magazine #5: What can I say about Sickbox's second self-financed CD that will MAKE you go out and buy it? Well , it's heavy as fuck, it has shredding groove/breakdown/mosh riffs, it's pretty original, it's heavy as fuck -what? You're still reading this review? Stop reading this and contact these guys and get yourselves a copy and make them fucking rock stars! You can tell that Sickbox is heavily influenced by slipknot, but dare I say it? They are way heavier than the masked men. Vocalist - Stevil - has a wide variety of screams, some sounding "nu-metal", some sounding almost black metalish and at times even hints of death metal vocals. And like I said in the review of Sickbox's debut CD, drummer Yuli can easily compete with slipknot's Joey Jordison. Sure Sickbox can be called nu-metal, but they ad a ton of different influences into their sound (including death-black and thrash metal) and, like I said before they're heavy as fuck! The only negative thing I can say about this CD is the few rap parts thrown in here and there. But other than that, this CD shreds. -Rod Brown. Editor, Throat Culture Magazine.
