Artist History
Code Monkey are based in London, England and were formed in early 2000. Paul (vox/guitars)and Glen (drums/keyboards) combine with other brilliant musicians to create unforgettable melodies, blistering guitar sounds and imaginative rhythms, giving both an immediate buzz and, for those who dig deeper, a lasting impression.
The band have been working with the now legendary Rich Haines (produced both Radiohead and Supergrass) of Dungeon Studios, Oxford. Code Monkey released a debut 9 track album Crashland mid 2001 and have followed up with the Under my skin ep in 2002. The music is available through the official website www.thecodemonkey.com.
The sounds are original and distinctive, ranging from the immediacy of the title track Crashland to the raw edged Speed of Sound and Radiate. Crushed by Love was selected to appear on a UK indie compilation album called Missiles In The Snow released in June 2002 (www.burbs.co.uk), and has been featured on BBC Radio Ones Evening Session with Steve Lamacq and on 104.9 XFMs The Works. The bands versatility and darker side is revealed on Under my skin, Only for you and Slow Motion Replay with its shifting time signatures.
Code Monkey are currently unsigned and the guys are now working on more material and gigging in the London area.

Press Reviews
"You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out these guys are going places; it's unbelivable to us that a major hasn't sucked up this act. Code Monkey's got it all... Great songs, great vocals, hooky melodies, and instrumentation. Believe it or not, the band is less than three years old; you could never tell that this is a young band by the quality and consistancy of the songs, that's for sure. If you happen to be in the UK, Don't miss these guys!" TheMusicTap.com..................................................
"No fools these West London boys...this demo's a real grower" Steve Lamacq BBC Radio One (23 May 2002)....................................................................
"I really like this song" (referring to "crushed by love") Clare Sturgess 104.9 XFM The Works. (3 July 2002).................................................
