Artist description
We're an alternative metal band with strong rapcore influences. Our sound eminates from many different kinds of arrangementstyles; mostly leaning toward non-traditional formats, but witha familiar tone. We are, as far as we know, the only hardcore-style metal band that still tunes in standard "e" but maintainsa thick deep sound. |

Artist History
Early in the band's history, two school mates (Greg Luebkin--bass, and Jason Shepard--guitar) formed a metal band oriented more toward the "death metal" sound. After experiencing marginal local success (and after a few drummers) the duo set out to change the basic approach and fundamental sound of their project. It was at this time that Gerg met Dan Froehlich (the current drummer) on a construction jobsite and given theri similar musical tastes, Greg invited Dan for an audition for the newly reformed "brimstone". Jason and Greg's expectations were exceeded by Dan's abilities; however the new trio still needed a singer.Enter Courtney Pringle. A large man of color and stature, Courtney was Greg's neighbor who had sung with the church choir, but expressed an interest in pursuing an outlet of musical taste right in line with what Greg, Jason and Dan were needing.Within four months of forming as "brimstone", the foursome had written and recorded 12 new and original tunes, and began an extensive gigging schedule which landed them such opportunities as opening for Brougham and Crush Down.Early in August of 2000, in the midst of writing new tunes for the second release of songs, Jason met with some personal issues that ultimately resulted in his departure from the band; and with little momentum to go on, the ramaining members began to search for a replacement. After a short time, Greg came up with a willing candidate in Mike Gable, a young guitar efficienado with a fresh perspective and approach which enhanced even further the rapcore sound that made brimstone's popularity escalate. Now, with eight new tunes written (four of which are recorded and presented in mp3's website) the refreshed group is positioning itself and getting poised for greater advances and successes. |
