Artist History
Brad's Dead Fish began with three young men in a basement in Ann Arbor, Michigan. While in many cases a scenario like this could lead to a no-good end; the members of the band talked, wrote, jammed, sang, practiced, and thrived in that subterranean environment- in the house where drummer Scott Northway was living at the time. One day as the yet-unnamed band was practicing, singer/guitarist Chris Paule and bassist John Tripp were trying to think of what to call themselves. Scott's brother Brad, whose surge protector the boys had stolen from his aquarium filter and air pump to plug their instruments into for their practice, provided an answer. In the midst of Brad's protesting that the lack of filtration in his tank during practice time would kill his fish, Chris Paule had an epiphany. Kill his fish? Yeah, dead fish... Brad's dead fish... that has a nice sound to it. And the rest, as they say, is history. Brad's Dead Fish has been enchanting Ann Arbor, Michigan audiences since 1998- from the stages at Huron High School and the Neutral Zone to area pubs and nightclubs such as Cross Street Station, Solid Rock Cafe, and the Blind Pig. They have had live shows broadcast over the internet courtesy of the Digital Club Network, and are currently putting the finishing touches on their first CD. |
