Press Reviews
GODS OF MUSIC REVIEW 2001 for BASS BASS BASS BASS = "CAUTION" warns Frequency Hz. "This track has 30Hz Sub bass drops". He's not wrong either. My neighbours will vouch for that, I can tell you. Bass Bass Bass is, well...bass, bass and more bass. The track consists of a tight breakbeat drum track, with plenty of pattern variance. Crisp and clean hi-hats are aplenty, layered over the top of a jump-up kick/snare combination. It works pretty well. The FX is also good, with lots of dark and industrial noises adding to the atmosphere. And did I mention the bass? Oh, I did. Well, it’s worth mentioning again, as its pretty goddamn phat. The song is a little short - at only 2:39 it hasn’t got much time to progress, and this would be my only criticism. It has a very flat structure. Listening to some of the other tracks on the page reveals that frequency Hz has a Techno background, and it sounds like it’s influenced this decision. But other than that it’s quite a strong track that I’ll be listening to again. Except maybe not quite so loud next time. |
