    Artist description
The Seven is an open-ended, eclectic, genre-melting, music-first powerhouse dedicated to making great music in all forms. A project that realizes the inherent spiritual nature of music and believes that God gave us music that we might pray without words. Piloted by Kevin A. Smith, The Seven could be termed a solo project but I love to draw inspiration from others and enjoy collaborations from time to time.

    Artist History
The Seven was born years ago when I found myself writing primarily instrumental music. Other musicians with the interest and talent to play this kind of music were/are scarce so I built a recording studio to pursue my creative whims. Now - four albums later - I am still honing my craft and jamming with live musicians, trying to work up some live versions of classics from The Seven and write new songs as well.
    Group Members
The only official member is me: Kevin A. Smith on guitar, bass, drums and programming, keys and samples... but The Seven is and always will be open ended - I love to collaborate.

    Press Reviews
"the tracks draw on influences such as jazz-fusion, hyper-technical prog rock, classical and new age, with Smith manning all the instruments. His guitar work sounds like the way a young Eric Johnson might play if he had one foot planted in progressive rock and the other planted in the blues. The third track, "Roll Over", features some nice trade offs on the guitar with Smith presumably playing all parts. The music really holds your attention--Smith seems to have everything going for him to advance further in the progressive rock arena." - Guitar 9 Records/The Undiscovered (www.guitar9.com)
