If rock has always been the expression of society?s nasty little underbelly, Siggy strikes a rich vein with Harlow?s Girl."http://www.181-4.com/reviews.cfm?THEID=529from 181-4.com "The strength of Siggy's songs lie in the guitar arrangements. Dr Ryan Howes, a pyschotherapist by profession, consistently delivers innovative, melodic pieces which appealed to my perpetual craving for true originality."from HIGHWIRE DAZE: Issue #63; June/July, 1999"Harlow's Girl is the debut from Siggy released on Viking Girl Records. This local band from Pasadena has taken garage alternative modern pop out of Silverlake and moved it to Pasadena. Galen Buckwalter is a young Iggy Pop with a twist thrashbump from X. This underground psychedelic sound, from this four piece, is catchy like early Echo and The Bunnymen and how Dream Syndicate were in the late 70's early 80's. College radio should take notice of this group quickly. |
