Artist description
ROCK! philly 1980's /Punk/Thrash/Folk/Metal/Experimental hardcore - - - - - -
Ruin were just as capable at Ramones style punk as they were with Bad Brains style thrash. What also distinguished them was their ability to play tight and charging and as ferocious as early Metallica as well as letting loose with free experimental noise, and fucking up folk songs.
For their recordings, they honed in on what was best of their live performances to create a wide range of material for two lps and some compilations. To balance out their often athletic and physically stimulating music, Ruin's lyrics reflected the education and experiences they gained during their early efforts at emotional and spiritual development . |

Artist History
Best remembered for their highly charged legendary live performances in and around the Americanhardcore circuit during the 1980's. Their vinyl releases of that time were compiled for a CD reissue in 1996; "Songs of Reverie and Ruin." This stimulated a brief ReUnIoN in 96/97 when they headlined the Trocadero in Philadelphia and re-affirmed the legend for the new skulls. |
