Artist History
Starting at age 5, Robert was taking piano lessons and had his first piano recital at 5 and a half. When he received a standing ovation for the little ditty that he performed, it was at that instant his entire life was visible to him in his mind - music...and nothing else has ever come close. He continued with private lessons and formed his fist rock band at age 11. The Twilights.... then it was the Counts, Rick and the Keens, The Unknowns, The Roamin' Empire, Diane and the Jades, TSOT, Jumpstreet... and a number of lesser garage bands that really went nowhere. But through it all, the music was the magic that kept him writing and playing. His gift--a catchy hook seems to be all that was needed to generate an entire song. “You find that hook....and you've got something to work with!” After years of music lessons, composition, theory, experience playing in bars and gin-joints, and 400 songs later, finally, finding that hook became a reality. In fact, many hooks--and they're obvious, if not blatant—can be found in the album, "LOVE JUNKIE"! Robert incorporates a blend of multi-cultural sounds and influences that fuse this album together in a mix of everything from Paul McCartney to Tony Bennett--Rock, Jazz, Swing, and Ballads. Benedetto has a way with the lyric and the melody to turn even the most discerning music critic into a believer. “You can't walk away not liking something!” |
