Artist History Fronted by singer / songwriter / guitarist Joe Hutchinson, his band HUTCH were recently discovered by rock legend SAMMY HAGAR when he saw them on a The Food Network's "Food Nation" series, then asked to co-write a song for his new CD. Signed to Smile Records, HUTCH's debut CD "Turn It Around" is being praised by Billboard Magazine, who are comparing Joe to PETE TOWNSHEND of the WHO, and praising the band for their "knockout power-trio attack" made possible with the help of drummer Thom Sullivan and bassist Glenn Hays. HUTCH have played with acts as varied as The Smithereens, Elliott Smith, Tonic, The Proclaimers, and Bow Wow Wow singer Anna Bella, and have performed at prestigious venues like The House Of Blues, Knitting Factory, Key Club, and Universal Studios Hollywood. Originally from New Jersey, Joe Hutchinson is a descendant of his once controversial ancestors, The Hutchinson Family Singers, whom were famous during the mid 19th century for singing out against slavery, and supporting other humanitarian efforts, including women's rights. With HUTCH, Joe is committed to continuing the work of his ancestors, and hopes to deliver an honest, positive message that will remain relevant for years to come.
