Artist description
Cartagia are comprised of Tony Penn and Glenn Sanderson. Their music is based upon a dark synth-pop core upon which variations in style, brought about by their diverse influences and desire to experiment, create a unique blend of electronic music. This results in most people liking some of their music, and the rest liking all of it.
Always melodic, it strays far enough away from commercial pop to make people sit up and listen, yet not too far as to alienate mass appeal. The songs always have a mood, usually on the darker side of life, but with a foot firmly planted in it. The music typically grows on the listener, then lingers around being enjoyed, rather than attracting instant and short-lived pop appeal.
This style has been matured through 12 years of writing together, and with every new song cartagia are learning something new about themselves and their music. There are varied and interesting times ahead.

Artist History
Glenn and Tony have been writing music together on and off since the age of 15. Originally in a synth trio named INNAVISION, they achieved minor local success before splitting in 1990. Glenn joined several gothic rock groups playing bass guitar, and Tony wrote instrumental and dance music as a solo artist. For the next 8 years they continued to write together, and Tony recorded and produced several recordings for Glenn’s groups. Eventually they got back together in 1997 to form cartagia. |
