Press Reviews As the band so eloquently writes in its self-penned press packet, Blastman ain't for every average Joe or Jane. No MTV favorites, no hip-hop, no two turntables and a microphone malarkey, no Skynyrd, Birkenstock or cock rock. Okey, so we know what Blastman is not, but still don't know what Blastman is. Imagine if Jerry Lee Lewis, "The Killer," grew up in the 90's and threw away the piano for three chords and the truth. The manager from a former gig described Blastman's sound as "intense rockabilly." You could go a step further and call it 'punkabilly.' Blastman said to better understand it's sound, " Strap a tall chrome blower on all the 50's Sun Studio records, add a heaping helping of Hank Williams Sr. on a mean moonshine bender, toss in the indispensable modified twang cam, hootenanny drag slicks, and you get us." Like it or not. Hailing from Columbus, MS, these retro-rockers push every song to its limit. Subtlety is only a word to the band, not a state of being. So strap in and strap it on, you may not like the ride, but it will never be boring.
