    Artist description
Alleycatz, a trio from Herning, Denmark, play's rockabilly / rock 'n' roll without any technical interference. Just good old plain rock 'n' roll. Different from many bands, Alleycatz don't use drums, and that's probably what makes them so intriguing. They're simply just a rockin' and a-boppin' cat-band with a lot of guitar, bass, piano and vocal.

    Artist History
Oktober 6th. 1998 : Despite some considerable succes in our local area, our drummer at that time decided to leave us. What now? Crisis? Well at least for 15 minutes. That´s about the time that past by until we were in our local pub ordering a round of beers. We agreed that this shouldn´t stop us. We decided to try a whole new style: acoustic rockabilly/rock ´n´ roll, with absolutely no drums. We agreed to spend a couple of months in the practice room, working on own material, new coversongs, more additional vocal and just getting used to our new style. After a few more beers in the pub, Alleycatz was born.

Like Stray Cats, Polecats and other cat-bands, the Danish outfit,ALLEYCATZ, play´s rock ´n´ roll. Not the modern weak pop-rock, not metal, not industrial but good old-fashion swingin´ 50´s be-bop-a-rockin´-lula from back when rock really got you goin´! ALLEYCATZ pursues the groovin´ authentic fifties sound, with lots of good-humored energy, but with a cocky nineties updating of perfect Hi-Fi quality. As a special feature, ALLEYCATZ chooses to deliver the goods with no drums whatsoever. This leaves more room for guitar and piano, not to mention it squeezes the swing-level a few notches up the scale. The Danes take their inspiration from just about every band/artist that was labeled "rock" back in the fifties, but obvious examples are names like Jerry Lee Lewis, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkins and of course the Stray Cats. In a time where the world is suffocating in worthless techno-pop, it´s comforting to hear a new band that can actually PLAY. Reminds one of how good rock really was in its infancy.
