Artist History
The Apaches of Paris is the brainchild of L.A. based vocalist and multi - instrumentalist Garrison. Named for the turn of the century Parisian sub-culture, the Apaches were a staple on the L.A. club scene releasing the single " Dreams I Can't Remember b/w "Down Along The Left Bank" which got a spin or two on alternative station KROQ. Building on local successes, the Apaches of Paris released the full length indie " Two Day Cabaret ". Lyrically sharp, the recording captured the energy of the Apaches' live set while adding additional instruments to the mix. " Two Day Cabaret " drew critical praise and the regular appearances in top clubs helped to increase a diverse following. Label interest was growing and talks had begun with a major. At the same time that a corporate take over killed the negotiations, Garrison felt a need to explore a wider range of influences. Coincidentally, Garrison was finding new inspiration in the projects of self contained artists such as Trent Reznor, VAST, and the D.I.Y. ethic of the techno scene. Energized by the newfound freedom to experiment and work with a huge palatte of new sounds, Garrison is currently recording tracks for a new album that redefines the Apaches of Paris landscape. Performing all vocals and instruments in the studio, the first song produced by this rebirth was "Contact ", a rhythmic rock workout laid over a spacey synth loop that is sharp and to the point. A full release is scheduled mid year. We will be updating info as received. |
