Artist History
Touring and recording from 1992, Smotherparty was active for three years. During that time the lineup remained unchanged, with the band's music growing increasingly slick in structure and performance. Their first demo recordings were made after the band had rehearsed together only seven or eight times. By 1995, after a few more, increasingly ambitious studio sessions, an album was planned and sessions started. Conflicts with the recording studio led to major setbacks for the band.
Only four tracks were completed for the album, and soon the band split.
In 2001, the best of the earlier demos were combined with the final album sessions to make up the album 'Is That The Time?'. |
