Artist description
Mother aspires to bring the elements of social awareness and unabashed optimism into the arena of popular rock music. They have assigned themselves a difficult task: couching both a positive outlook and the acknowledgement of social problems within songs that are pleasing to the ear, while maintaining a careful poetic sensibility in the lyrics. Compositionally, Mother songs range from locomotive guitar rock ("PowderKeg") to manic falsetto-wah dueling ("Alpha") to spatial album-oriented alternative ("Salutations").
Featuring the driving and atmospheric drumming of KII Kay, the demonstrative and simian bass of Steve DiStasio, the enthusiastic vocal talents of Tim Macauley, and the guitar artistry of Jon Grout, Mother hope to create, through their music, an affirmative, welcoming space where listeners of all kinds can come together, enjoy thoughtful and exciting art, and encounter ideas, problems, and each other. |
