In the late 1960's, Joe discovered the beautiful state of West Virginia and fell in love with the local culture which is rich in acoustic music influences. In 1976, he opened The Fret 'n Fiddle music shop and has also, for nearly 20 years, has been the host of "Music From The Mountains", an acoustic music program on West Virginia Public Radio.
