Artist History
Producer, Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist. Playing congas, bongos, timbales, misc. percussion & Keyboards ... with a little drums, a little bass, a little guitar. Born and raised in the the Oakland/Berkeley area, he is yet another treasure to emerge from the area. Growing up listening to an eclectic mix of music from R&B/Funk to Jazz to African/Latin to Country/Western. He considers himself a jazz musician. "My music is jazz influenced. The funk, the hip hop, the R&B etc... it's in my blood. I always try to stir in some jazz and funky percussion into all my creations." As a musician, he has performed at the San Francisco Jazz Festival, the Black Filmmaker's Awards, the Gavin Convention and shared the bill with artists such as Hiroshima, William Kennedy, formerly with The Yellowjackets & the Martin Short Show, Bluenote's Charlie Hunter, MoJazz artists Eddie M & Imprompt2, Mercury Recording Artists Phil Perry, Emage & Toni, Tony, Tone & Con-funk-shun. He was one of the founding members of the Bay Area acid jazz group "KnowJazz". While with KnowJazz , he co-produced their CD entitled "Take a Hit of This..." on StoneGroove Records, as well as their debut release "Unsigned and Ready to Deliver" which received rave reviews in HitMakers Magazine. He has worked with artists from both coasts including members of the Mercury recording group "Emage"; Hip Hop artists Simply E from New Jersey and Mecca recording artist Boojaa from Oakland; Phenomenal Bay Area Funk Jazz Vocalist Omega; Singer/Songwriters Ann Prezno, Brely, Joye Vaughn, Luqman, Taura Stinson; Guitarist Stanley Davis; Soul/Jazz Group "TKO - The Knew Objective", You can catch him in the Bay Area with many different bandsthroughout the San Francisco Bay Area.He is currently planning on touring to support this new CD. |
